Adam Lallana Takes Player-Coach Role with England U21

Adam Lallana aged 35 has joined England’s U21 team for training sessions ahead of their upcoming matches. Although he last played for the senior national team in 2018, Lallana with 34 caps to his name is now transitioning into a coaching role as he nears the end of his playing career at Brighton.

Despite battling injuries throughout his career, Lallana has made 19 Premier League appearances this season and aims to assist Brighton in their bid for European qualification. His involvement with the U21 team is part of his process in obtaining coaching badges and gaining experience in a player-coach capacity.

Lallana’s presence serves as a link between the coaching staff and the younger players offering valuable insights from his Premier League experience. While his contract with Brighton expires at the end of the season, Lallana remains focused on contributing both on and off the field.
