Brooklyn Nets Executive Jeff Peterson Tapped as New Head of Basketball Operations for Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets are set to appoint Jeff Peterson a Brooklyn Nets executive as the new head of basketball operations. Peterson (35) will replace Mitch Kupchak who is transitioning to an advisory role. The Hornets’ ownership is confident in Peterson’s ability to revitalize the team and establish long-term leadership.

Peterson who has a history with owner Rick Schnall played a crucial role in the Nets’ front office under GM Sean Marks. Known for his player personnel acumen and deal-making skills, Peterson is expected to transform the Hornets into a competitive franchise.

The team has been proactive in acquiring assets including future first-round draft picks and making changes to its infrastructure. The ownership led by Schnall and Gabe Plotkin aims for significant upgrades and has already initiated arena renovations and plans for a new practice facility.
