Sporting Equals Concerned About Colin Graves’ Return To Yorkshire Cricket

The Sporting Equals charity raised concerns about the potential return of Colin Graves to Yorkshire County Cricket Club, citing it as a setback to the progress made against racism in cricket. They emphasized the importance of the game’s ongoing efforts to combat racism, highlighting the impact of the ICEC Report and urging action to maintain momentum.

The open letter addressed to various cricket entities called for measures including an Independent Fit and Proper Persons Test for club ownership, mandatory training on inclusive behaviors, and the establishment and publication of equality policies by each county club. The aim was to ensure cricket’s inclusivity and eradicate discriminatory practices within the sport. The Department for Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport echoed the sentiment, stressing the need for continued reform and a welcoming environment within cricket.
