Cambridge secured victories in both the men’s and women’s Boat Race against Oxford marking their fifth win in six years for the men and seventh consecutive win for the women. Ahead of the race, concerns were raised about high E. coli levels in the Thames with some Oxford rowers reporting illness.
Despite this, Cambridge dominated the men’s race with stroke Matt Edge pushing through physical strain to secure a comfortable victory. In the women’s race, Cambridge continued their dominance with a clear win though Oxford raised concerns about Cambridge boat path.
Both winning teams refrained from entering the water post-race due to the contamination warnings.
