Chelsea Takes Control of Quarter-Final Tie with Commanding Win Against Ajax

Sjoeke Nusken’s brace propelled Chelsea to a commanding victory over Ajax in the Women’s Champions League quarter-final, seizing control of the tie. Despite Ajax hitting the post early on, Chelsea dominated proceedings with Lauren James opening the scoring.

Guro Reiten had a goal disallowed before Nusken struck for Chelsea’s second. The second half saw Chelsea maintain control, with Nusken adding another goal from a Catarina Macario cross. With the win, Chelsea looks poised for the semi-finals where they could face Barcelona or Braan.

The match was a satisfying performance for Chelsea who faced a Dutch-record crowd of 35,997 fans. Despite some VAR interventions, Chelsea emerged victorious setting them up well for the return leg at Stamford Bridge.
