Crisis at Celtic: Poor Performances Raise Questions Over Rodgers’ Leadership

Celtic experienced a setback in the Scottish Premiership with a 1-1 draw against Kilmarnock dropping nine points at home this season compared to just two the previous year. Manager Brendan Rodgers admits to “too many” poor performances and takes responsibility for the team’s defensive shortcomings. The absence of key players like Cameron Carter-Vickers and injuries to Alistair Johnston have impacted the team’s defensive solidity.

Rodgers acknowledges the need for the team to be more aggressive and harder to beat. Former midfielder Michael Stewart notes a loss of Celtic’s aura of invincibility and believes Rangers are now the favorites in the title race. There are criticisms at the boardroom level for poor recruitment decisions but Rodgers is also facing scrutiny for not getting the desired results and performances from the squad.

Despite calls for change pundits suggest sticking with Rodgers and hoping for improvement.
