Al-Nassr forward Cristiano Ronaldo has been handed a one match ban and fined £6,300 by the Saudi Arabian Football Federation for “provoking fans” after a Saudi Pro League victory over Al-Shabab. Ronaldo responded to chants of “Messi” from Al Shabab supporters by cupping his hand to his ear and making a gesture.
The 39 years old Portuguese captain who cannot appeal the decision had opened the scoring in the 3-2 match. Since joining Al-Nassr from Manchester United in December 2022, Ronaldo has scored 20 goals in 22 league games with his team currently in second place in the league.
