As he approached his 35th birthday, heavyweight boxer Simon Kean decided to retire from the sport after a successful career. He had a remarkable journey starting with 70 amateur fights including the 2012 London Olympics.
Transitioning to the professional circuit, Kean achieved 23 victories out of 25 fights becoming known as the “Grizzly” for his dominant performances. His boxing career provided structure and discipline helping him grow both as an athlete and as a person.
Notable highlights include winning national championships and competing in Olympic qualifications. Kean’s professional career featured impressive knockout wins but also some defeats including a memorable bout against Joseph Parker.
Despite these challenges, Kean’s journey has left a lasting mark on the sport and he now looks forward to pursuing new ventures outside of boxing.
