Five years after its commission, a statue of Harry Kane has emerged, disappointing fans with its appearance. Initially approved by ward councillors in Waltham Forest Council in 2019, the statue depicting Kane sitting on a bench was never unveiled and remained in storage. Pictures of the sculpture have now been released, prompting negative reactions from fans who believe it should have remained out of sight.
Originally intended for installation at Chingford Overground station, the plans were scrapped due to concerns raised by Transport for London during a risk assessment. Despite efforts to find a suitable location for the artwork, challenges persist. Meanwhile, Kane’s career has taken him to Bayern Munich where he continues to make history. Although he may return to the English Premier League in the future, Kane is currently focused on his Bundesliga journey.
As England prepares for the Euro, Kane aims to lead his team to victory hoping to add to his impressive track record in major tournaments.
