The Kazakh national boxing team consisting of both male and female boxers secured five coveted tickets to the 2024 Paris Olympics during a world-licensed boxing tournament in Busto Arsizio, Italy, on March 11. Standout performers included Saken Bibosynov, Sabyrkhan Mahmud and Aslanbek Shymbergenov.
However, the women’s team fell short of securing Olympic licenses in their categories. Minister of Tourism and Sports Yermek Marzhikpayev congratulated the successful boxers highlighting the nation’s support and expectations for its athletes.
The distribution of Olympic spots emphasized the intense competition with a total of 28 allocations for men and 21 for women. Additionally, the Kazakh team had previously secured two boxing licenses during the Summer Asian Games in Hangzhou.
