Jake Libby Commits to Worcestershire with a Four-Year Contract Extension

Jake Libby the vice-captain of Worcestershire in red-ball cricket has extended his contract with the club for another four years. The 31years old who also captains the One-Day Cup side has been with Worcestershire for the past five seasons and has been a consistent performer. Worcestershire’s CEO, Ashley Giles expressed delight at securing Libby’s services emphasizing his importance for the team’s success in Division One.

Libby whose contract now runs until 2027 is optimistic about the team’s potential to compete for trophies. He has been in impressive form averaging over 50 since the shortened 2020 season and being the leading run-scorer in first-class cricket during that period.

Libby’s renewal follows that of captain Brett D’Oliveira extending until 2027 and former skipper Joe Leach signed until 2025. Worcestershire had a successful previous season, finishing as runners-up in Division Two and reaching the quarter-finals in both the T20 Blast and One-Day Cup.
