Jorge Martin secured victory in the opening MotoGP race of the season, setting a lap record in qualifying. However, Francesco Bagnaia emerged as the winner in the grand prix with Brad Binder finishing ahead of Martin in second place.
Despite this, Martin maintained a strong pace throughout the race and demonstrated clever riding by conserving his tires and setting the fastest lap on the final lap. Commentator Simon Crafar praised Martin performance, noting his impressive speed and tactical awareness which could pose a threat to his rivals for the championship title.
Additionally, Crafar lauded KTM and Binder for their significant improvements in various areas particularly the engine performance, bike handling and aerodynamics. He believes that with slightly better edge grip, Binder has the potential to secure race victories for KTM.
