Manchester City Overcome Chelsea to Reach FA Cup Final After Champions League Setback

Manchester City bounced back from their Champions League quarter-final disappointment against Real Madrid by defeating Chelsea at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-final. Bernardo Silva redeemed himself with a late goal after his penalty miss against Real. Chelsea missed several chances with Nicolas Jackson particularly wasteful. They were also denied a penalty after Jack Grealish handball.

City aiming for a Premier League and FA Cup double will face either Manchester United or Coventry City in the final. Despite a sluggish start, City found a way to win showcasing their resilience. Chelsea led by Mauricio Pochettino left Wembley disappointed once again with Jackson missed opportunities costing them dearly. They felt aggrieved by the referee’s decision not to award a penalty for handball.

Chelsea focus now shifts to securing a place in Europe as their trophy aspirations fade.
