Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez is facing a two months injury setback after suffering a sprained collateral ligament in his knee during the team’s 3-0 victory over West Ham.
Martinez who had recently returned from a foot injury was forced off the pitch in the second half following a collision with Vladimir Coufal.
United manager Erik ten Hag described the injury as “bad” after the match. The 26 years old Argentine is not expected to require surgery but will be sidelined until at least March according to reports.
Martinez expressed gratitude for the support received and vowed to return soon.
