Michael Beale: Navigating Sunderland Through Challenges Against Birmingham

Sunderland Head Coach Michael Beale spoke with BBC Radio Newcastle’s Sunderland commentator Nick Barnes ahead of the upcoming match against Birmingham City. Beale emphasized the need for focus on securing three points in each game rather than getting distracted by external factors. Tony Mowbray now the manager of Birmingham City was previously sacked by Sunderland in December after 15 months in charge.

Beale acknowledged the significance of the match but stressed the importance of maintaining a one game at a time mentality. Regarding player selection, Beale mentioned some players being sore and the need to assess their fitness. Patrick Roberts suffered a hamstring injury in the previous match creating an opportunity for other players like Romaine Mundle and Abdoullah Ba to step up.

Beale expressed disappointment over Roberts’ injury but remains confident in finding solutions within the squad.
