Monty Williams Stands Firm: No Backing Down on Criticism of Officials

Detroit Pistons coach Monty Williams didn’t back down after criticizing officials for a missed call in a loss to the New York Knicks. Williams while acknowledging the acknowledgment by the crew chief that a foul was missed stated that he hasn’t heard from the NBA about a potential fine.

Williams emphasized moving past the incident but learning from it. He expressed frustration over the missed call during the chaotic final possession calling it the “absolute worst call of the season” and “an abomination.” The Pistons with a league-worst 9-49 record are focusing on growth and improvement.
