Oxford United Clinch Wembley Final Spot After Play-Off Triumph Over Peterborough

Oxford United secured a place in the League One play-off final at Wembley after defeating Peterborough United 2-1 on aggregate. Trailing 1-0 from the first leg, Peterborough scored first in the return fixture but Oxford equalized through Cameron Brannagan penalty just before halftime.

Despite relentless pressure from Peterborough in the second half, Oxford defended resolutely to hold on to their lead. Oxford will now face Bolton Wanderers for the chance of promotion to the Championship. Peterborough manager Darren Ferguson praised his team’s performance but lamented the missed opportunities while Oxford manager Des Buckingham expressed pride in his team’s resilience and determination.
