It’s been nearly a month since the LIV Golf and PGA Tour players competed in the season’s first major where instances of profanity and outbursts were observed not only from LIV players but also at The Masters. Padraig Harrington a respected PGA Tour professional commented on the increased use of expletives by LIV players during The Masters.
He noted that while passion is part of the game, proper golf etiquette should still be upheld especially at prestigious events like The Masters. Harrington emphasized the importance of maintaining the traditional integrity of the game expressing concern about excessive displays of emotion on the course. He suggested that while personal actions are acceptable damaging the golf course or affecting playing partners crosses a line.
Harrington remarks echo the sentiments of many who value golf’s reputation as a gentleman’s sport and advocate for moderation in player behavior.
