Preparations on Track: Malaysia Stadium Ready for World Cup Qualifiers

The Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) is content with the condition of the Bukit Jalil National Stadium field set to host the World Cup 2026/Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers against Oman on March 26.

FAM secretary-general Datuk Noor Azman Rahman addressed concerns raised by Harimau Malaya head coach Kim Pan Gon assuring that discussions with the Malaysia Stadium Corporation (PSM) indicated sufficient time for the pitch’s restoration.

Pan Gon had previously expressed worries about the field’s condition after inspections. Despite concerns, FAM is confident in the contractor’s commitment to restoring the pitch in two weeks.

Harimau Malaya’s upcoming matches include facing Oman on March 21 and Kyrgyzstan on June 6 with Malaysia currently leading Group D.
