In a thrilling semi-final match, the Asian Cup hosts and defending champions Qatar secured a narrow 3-2 victory over Iran with Almoez Ali scoring the decisive goal. Qatar’s coach Marquez Lopez, praised his team’s performance and expressed gratitude to the players for implementing his tactics.
Despite an early lead from Iran’s Sardar Azmoun, Qatar equalized through Jassem Gaber and took the lead with a goal from Akram Afif just before halftime. Iran responded strongly in the second half equalizing again with a penalty from Alireza Jahanbakhsh.
