Rachel Corsie Slams Online Abuse Directed at Teenage Goalkeeper

Scotland captain Rachel Corsie condemns the “horrible” online criticism aimed at 17 years old Partick Thistle goalkeeper Ava Easdon as “bullying.” Easdon faced backlash after a loss to Rangers with former player Joey Barton among those criticizing her.

Corsie stresses that such behavior tarnishes the sport and is unacceptable, especially towards young players. Other football figures including Scotland head coach Pedro Martinez Losa and Rangers captain Nicola Docherty offer support to Easdon.

Despite the challenges, Easdon’s loan club Glasgow City highlights her impressive performance this season. Martinez Losa emphasizes the importance of protecting players in the evolving women’s game. Rangers affirm their commitment to promoting women’s football and vow to challenge outdated views.
