Ronnie O’Sullivan Addresses Retirement Speculations Despite Snooker Struggles

Snooker legend Ronnie O’Sullivan has addressed concerns about his potential retirement from the sport. Despite admitting to not enjoying his snooker at the moment, the seven-time world champion dismissed rumors of retirement.

O’Sullivan secured a convincing 5-1 victory over Gary Wilson in the World Grand Prix quarter-finals, advancing to the semi-final against Ding Junhui. The world No. 1 acknowledged his struggle for motivation and the challenge of finding reasons to play.

While expressing discontent with his current enjoyment of the game, O’Sullivan emphasized that he is not explicitly stating retirement plans.

Despite winning titles this season, including the UK Championship and Masters, he revealed a lack of fulfillment in his snooker experience and hinted at taking a break from upcoming tournaments.

Former players Neal Foulds and Ken Doherty have suggested retirement might be appropriate for O’Sullivan, particularly if he claims an eighth world title.

O’Sullivan, contemplating his future in snooker, expressed mixed feelings about the sport’s major tournaments and the pressure they entail.
