Ronnie O’Sullivan and Judd Trump Cruise to Victory in World Open Second Round

Ronnie O’Sullivan and Judd Trump advanced to the next round of the World Open in China after winning their respective second round matches. O’Sullivan aged 48 showcased breaks of 129 and 106, taking a 3-1 lead before Michael White leveled the score at 3-3.  However, O’Sullivan regained his lead with an 87 break and secured victory by winning the eighth frame.

Meanwhile, Trump ranked second in the world secured a 5-2 win against Sanderson Lam with his highest break being 73. Trump who won the tournament in 2019 aims to defend his title following the tournament’s return after a four years hiatus due to the pandemic. 

Other notable results include world champion Luca Brecel’s 5-2 victory over Oliver Brown and Ding Junhui’s win by the same score against Liu Hongyu. However, four times world champion John Higgins was eliminated from the tournament after a 5-3 defeat by Jackson Page.
