Sainz Prepared to Sit Out Australian GP if Not Feeling Well, Prioritizing Health

Carlos Sainz asserts that he will skip the Australian Grand Prix if he feels unwell during Friday practice in Melbourne. Sainz who was sidelined from the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix due to appendicitis has recovered from surgery but remains cautious.

He emphasizes his commitment to being transparent about his condition and expresses gratitude for support from the FIA. Drawing from Alex Albon’s experience who also faced appendicitis, Sainz remains hopeful but acknowledges the uncertainty until he returns to the track.

Despite his absence, Sainz commends Oliver Bearman, who filled in admirably during his absence highlighting the role of simulators in preparing young drivers for high-pressure situations.
