Salary Woes for Kedah: Malaysian Football League Demands Answers, Board to Decide Fate

The spotlight is on Kedah former double treble winners as they grapple with resolving salary arrears for players. The Malaysian Football League (MFL) is reportedly urging Kedah to provide additional information on settling the four months salary arrears from the previous season. If the financial obligations are not met, the MFL board will decide on the next steps.

Despite facing financial challenges, Kedah is restructuring its team by releasing eight foreign players and several local players. The club has signed striker Syafiq Ahmad on loan, defender Rizal Ghazali and appointed former player Ahmad Fauzi Saari as team coordinator indicating potential financial improvement.

Football critic Dr. Zulakbal Abdul Karim attributes Kedah’s financial struggles to broader issues in the M-League emphasizing the need for long-term planning and sustainable revenue streams. He underscores the importance of good management in influencing both financial stability and on-field player performances in M-League clubs.
