Saracens CEO Lucy Wray Steps Down After Four Years, Mark Thompson to Take Over

Saracens chief executive Lucy Wray has decided to step down from her position after serving the club for four years. She will be replaced by Mark Thompson who previously worked as the chief operating officer at Burnley. During Wray’s time with Saracens the club achieved significant success winning both the Premiership and Championship titles.

Wray expressed gratitude for her time with the club but felt it was the right moment for a new chapter in her life. The Wray family has been involved with Saracens since 1995 with Nigel Wray initially investing in the club. Lucy Wray took over as chief executive in 2020 following her father’s departure.

Saracens experienced a challenging period after being relegated to the Championship due to salary cap breaches but they quickly returned to the Premiership and won the title last season. Wray’s tenure concluded with a victory over Exeter Chiefs and her departure coincides with Racing 92’s signing of England and Saracens captain Owen Farrell.
