Scotland Seeks Clarification as World Rugby Stays Mum on Game Defining Call

World Rugby has no intention of publicly explaining the decision to not award Scotland a try that could have won the Six Nations game against France. Scottish Rugby requested acknowledgment of a game defining mistake after referee Nic Berry and TMO Brian MacNeice appeared to reverse their decision.

World Rugby maintains its policy of not publicly commenting on specific officials’ decisions and is unlikely to provide any clarification. The SRU expressed concern about the integrity of the tournament and sought transparency on the decision making process. Scotland head coach Gregor Townsend has written to World Rugby expressing grievances.
