Shannon Tan Makes History with Wildlife-Infused Victory in Kenya

Wild giraffes added an unexpected twist to the final round of the Magical Kenya Ladies Open at the Vipingo Ridge golf course, a wildlife sanctuary. The interruption delighted spectators with the Ladies European Tour commentator expressing excitement.

Vipingo Ridge’s wildlife corridors allow various species to roam freely and in collaboration with the Kenya Wildlife Services the course hosts an animal rescue and breeding program. Despite the giraffe interruption, 19 years old Shannon Tan made history as the first Singaporean to win on the Ladies European Tour securing a four shots victory.

Shannon Tan in her first professional win emphasized sticking to her gameplan and inspiring juniors. Italy’s Alessandra Fanali proud of her performance acknowledged the challenging competition and looked forward to the upcoming weeks on the road.
