Leicester City widened their lead in the Championship with a commanding 5-0 victory over Stoke City. Patson Daka led the scoring with two goals supported by strikes from Kasey McAteer and Jamie Vardy who also converted a penalty.
The loss pushed Stoke down to 20th place in the standings. It marked Stoke manager Steven Schumacher’s first three game losing streak and his heaviest defeat as a manager. Leicester dominated the match controlling possession and creating numerous scoring opportunities.
Despite making changes, Stoke struggled to contain Leicester’s attack. Manager Enzo Maresca praised his team’s performance highlighting their effective playstyle and goal-scoring prowess.
Conversely, Schumacher expressed disappointment with his team’s defensive lapses and the ease with which Leicester capitalized on their mistakes.
