Utah Jazz Part Ways with Former No. 9 Pick Kevin Knox After Brief Stint

The Utah Jazz have reportedly waived Kevin Knox the No. 9 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft just a day after acquiring him in a trade with the Detroit Pistons. The 24 years old forward was released following a trade deadline deal where Detroit received second years player Simone Fontecchio in exchange.

Knox who has previously played for the New York Knicks and Portland Trail Blazers has struggled to meet the high expectations set by his draft position. Fans on social media expressed surprise at the swift decision and speculated on his future in the league.

Despite Knox’s shooting struggles averaging 7.4 points per game over six NBA seasons he remains a free agent and could potentially join an NBA G League franchise to work towards returning to an NBA roster.
