Mike Tyson’s Fight with Jake Paul Delayed

Mike Tyson’s heavyweight fight with Jake Paul, initially set for July 20, has been indefinitely postponed due to a medical warning. Medical professionals advised delaying the fight. The event, set for AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas and Netflix featured Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano and Darren Till’s boxing debut. However, Mike Tyson’s inability to train because of his ulcer condition has led to the cancellation of the fight. Paul’s promotional company MVP released a statement announcing that Tyson’s doctors have advised him to engage in minimal to light training over the next few weeks.

The doctors recommend Tyson to fully recover from his ulcer flare-up before returning to intensive training. Mike Tyson and Paul both agree that equal training time ensures fair preparation and competition at the highest level. The organizers fully support the decision to postpone the fight, prioritizing the health and well-being of the athletes. Expressing disappointment, Tyson assured fans that the fight would eventually take place later this year. Thanking supporters worldwide, he acknowledged his current better physical shape compared to the 1990s.

Tyson vowed to resume full training soon, confidently asserting that Paul’s edge won’t thwart his knockout. He appreciates everyone’s patience and is eager to deliver an unforgettable performance when the fight does happen. On the other hand, Paul expressed his support for the postponement, emphasizing his desire to face Tyson at his best instead of rushing through a fight. He aims to ensure that Tyson has no excuses on the night of the fight. Paul reassured his fans of his full preparedness to secure victory with a sensational finish against Tyson. He anticipates their match will be legendary and vows to excel in this unique event.

The new fight date hasn’t been announced yet, but it’s expected to be revealed on Friday, June 7.
