Chelsea Pitman Takes Helm at Nottingham Forest Netball

Chelsea Pitman, former England netball player, has taken on the role of head coach for Nottingham Forest Netball, one of the newly admitted teams in the revamped Netball Super League for 2025. The 36-year-old retired from international netball following England’s historic silver medal win at the World Cup in South Africa last year. Excited about her new role, Chelsea Pitman expressed readiness to face the challenges that come with guiding Forest through their inaugural NSL campaign next year.

She emphasized her goal to attract players dedicated to developing their netball skills and contributing to the sport’s growth. Owned by the Premier League football club, Nottingham Forest, the netball team is part of a broader strategy to establish a multi-sport model. Pitman, originally from Australia, brings extensive playing experience from leagues like Super Netball in Australia and the Netball Super League in the UK, where she competed for teams such as West Coast Fever, Adelaide Thunderbirds, Manchester Thunder, and London Pulse, as well as in New Zealand.

Having retired from her 14-year domestic playing career with the Giants in Sydney last month, Pitman’s career highlights include winning the World Cup with the Australian Diamonds in 2011 and contributing to England’s Commonwealth gold medal victory in 2018.
